Christmas Mood is ON !

It is time to prepare Christmas!
This year, I have my special task to make miniature for Christmas as it is my very first Christmas after picking up miniature craft work.
I bought my first miniature christmas tree which is gold in color.   It is 7.5" tall representing a 7.5 feet tall Christmas Tree.    Then I start dressing it up.   With some handmaded miniature deco and a big golden bow ribbon,  my christmas tree is now fully dressed.
Next, I use a cosmetic carton to prepare the platform for my presentation.     I think Christmas is not complete without Santa.   I feature as a toy ornament next to the Christmas Tree.

Since we have another 2 weeks prior to Christmas,  dear Santa decided to take his nap closed to the beautiful carriage.    Young princess couldn't wait to play with him but Santa is snoring all the way!    Come, it is counting down time,  we look towards Christmas and welcome the wonderful holiday season with anticipation!    Hey hey, Santa ... Santa, wakeup ....wakeup :-).

Go ahead, wishing everyone the best of the 2011 Christmas Day!
Best Wishes from  Wellajoy!

Golden Dragon Fish and Little Gold Fish

Introduce here two popular aquarium fish in the region.

The Golden Dragon Fish which is said to resemble the dragon influenced by Chinese Culture, the owners are usually business man.   They are high end species, quite highly priced.   Each fish issued with a 'Certificate of Identity' which bear its tag number,  specify its colour variety, red or gold.   The miniature in here belongs to the golden range.

The other more common  and less expensive fish is GoldFish.   There are many species of Gold Fish,  breeds vary greatly in size, body shape, fin configuration and coloration (various combinations of white, yellow, orange, red, brown, and black).  Show below is the red and white version.

Little GoldFish ... it look quite cute!
This is my little progress juggling with my slightly packed calendar this month.    I hope you like them.
Keep in there,  I hope to share more creations soon ...... although will be a busy December Month ahead!

Koi Fish with Videos

Koi is one of the most auspicious symbol in Eastern culture and legend that symbolize prosperity, harmony and well fortune.   Many keep them in their garden a Koi space with water features, while Chinese Scroll Paintings and Japanese art also feature this.

I've made some videos during one of my recent visit to Fish Farms in East Singapore.

Peaceful & Leisurely Koi's

About feeding time :-),

And now the Miniatures.....

I attempt to make my first miniature Koi product with its brillant colours and harmonious aura to represent its auspicious connotations.   As it has to reside in water and I plan it floating on my crystal collections in 3D featuring.    Taken a snapshot of 4 graceful movements of my little fish.   I would say it looked a bit too rounded and well fed compared to real ones :-).   Size wise 1:12 of a medium size Koi fish so it is about 1 inch in length.     I tried to play around put it into a mini glass "fish tank" I bought from a florist shop.   It looked like a little oversize to live comfortably in there :-).

First Koi made displayed on crystal feature

Anyway,  I proceed to make a second one of slimmer body and put them together.   Hmm,  at least little baby Koi will not be lonely anymore,  and I think they team up quite well :-).

Come readers,  the Koi pair of Wellajoy wish all of you Well and Joy,  Good Fortune and Great Prosperity !!

See you again soon ^_^.

Tulips and Roses

Flowers are such wealth that nature has provided for us.   Life become much more colourful with the presence of flowers.   It eloquently convey our love through its beauty.

I've make some flowers in pots today.
I placed them against the morning sun,  I admired them myself with the sun rays passing through some parts of the translucent petals.    This brightens up my day!

Good Morning to all!  Flowers ....Well and Joy send my greetings to the whole wide world!
I love the colours but craftmanship could be further refined :-).    I placed them with my other toys (not made by me, but can be candidate for future products),  you can see the size of the Japanese Dolls and  Pinocchios in ratio to the flowers.

Nice collections for kids and lovable adults too ... it is simply sweetness!

Coming up next will be brightening theme ....... please wait a little while for the next update :-)

New Clay Creations - Brooch, Card, Floral Presentations

Promised to keep posted about the outcome of the miniature creation workshop :  our team did not get the team winner but I was one of the two individual winners.
During the final judgement, our mentor brought along two of her friends who are also experts in the miniature creations.    Their work were at professional level, we were very impressed how real and how refined that these 1/12 scale products can be done so nicely!   Honestly,   we beginners will have a long way to go!

You can navigate one of their site to see how good the experts can really deliver!  It is awesome!

Back to the real world,  I have decided to make some more craft with my left over clay I bought from these miniature workshops.

I made a brooch (to match my new dress, with the color selections of pink, yellow and peach).

Then, another card painting with Orchids on them.    This is not really 1/12 scale but in the size of a 2.5" x 3" card size.

Finally,  I made a slightly bigger floral presentation of about 5" tall.   As I ran out of Grace Clay,  I could only use some left over  Staedtler Modelling Clay, so the flowers were really much bigger.    What I desired to present was  inspired by the clay work,  that we could actually create more things that could be of practical use, not only 1/12 size type by collectors eg. the brooch you can design to match your outfit / theme  and the floral arrangement of Ikebana Style that could be kept in small version and will last and the flowers will not fade or died.

I had always wanted to make some real flowers arrangement of Ikebana Style,   I think I would be able to make more of these that can be kept (as they are small & can last) and more varieties.    Soon I can expand my collections.

This is fun and inspiring!
For Leisure and Pleasure, for Well Being and for Joy!

BearFruit : Miniature Creation Workshop (July 23/30, Aug 06/13, 2011)

It is such an honour!   I had been selected as one of the 25 participants (Singapore Islandwide!) for the workshop organized by The Creative Academy (National Library Board) to attend the Miniature Creation Workshop mentored by Snowfern Clover (Ms Cindy Teh).

In lesson 1, we learnt all basic regarding how to handle the airdry clay, measurement and how to colour them that looked like breads.    I was quite amazed, it looked so real !
First Creation of little bread buns!
During lesson 2,  we were mainly using Grace Clay for preparation of strawberries and were being taught the relevant techniques to make different kind of fruits like kiwi, blueberries, bananas, etc.
I couldn't wait for 3rd lesson and start assembling one myself which looked rather oversized but still received some good feedbacks although the cake still lack the yummy creams :-).

Ice-cream Fruit Cake

Lesson 3,  the various technique that make the basic complete were covered.   We were talked about how to cream the cakes, piping the creams and decorating the whole cake and how to seal it.   It is then up to our own creativity to make our products attractive!
I spend two to three afternoons working out my presentations.    Hope you all like it!   I was very pleased myself with my own creations that  I uploaded this to my facebook ;-).

Miniature Creation Products

And to add to it,  I have decided to make a Birthday Cake for my mother for her birthday this month.   I am sure you recognized the peach ( chinese : 寿桃)

Finally,  presentation preparations for Lesson 4.    I made these preparations ( two table tops :  one with my products, one for my team-mates to add the rest)  and keep our fingers crossed ^.^.

Team E -- Sucess!

Keep you posted : XD!
