Happy Mother's Day!

Dear Readers,

I have not been making miniature for a while, especially so with my thumb wounded from cutting vegetables during steamboat preparation process.   Today,  I received a gift from my daughter celebrating Mother's day.   To my joy, it is Clay Roses she bought from school.   Although she didn't make it herself, but she know what I love and brightens up my day with this lovely gift.    One special thing to mention is that the bottle is derived from used Brand's Essence of Chicken (A tonic drink),  and the artiste painted a rose on the bottle and inserted a green foam inside to hold the stalks of roses.   Simple and Sweet, pretty good idea to recycle used container with the right purpose and very presentable :)

Thankyou my daughter and I wish my reader a Happy Mother's Day as well !  And a nice week ahead!

Be My Valentine!

After having a good time with all festive funs, it is now time for Valentine!

Probably is our best time of the year to express our love, care and appreciations for our dear ones.

A hand maded present is better expression than the off-the-shelf gifts.    I made a simple accessory with lovely roses for my daughter and I am sure she will like it on her favorite haversack :-).

Best wishes too to all my friends in the Miniature Land ...... a Happy Valentine Day this coming Tuesday!

Chinese New Year Feast

A combination of miniature pieces of oriental style for the CHINESE NEW YEAR

Happy New Year in the form of Dragon outline and year 2012 in the form of Chinese Character 喜 meaning HAPPINESS!

Together with FORTUNE FISH and WEALTHY DRAGON,   wish everyone a WONDERFUL and FRUITFUL year full of WEALTH & HEALTH!

Lunar Dragon Year is coming :)

The Dragon is one of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the  chinese calendar, and the only animal that is legendary.    For year 2012,  it is going to be Year of the Water Dragon for the Chinese Lunar Year,  as we will bid goodbye to Year of Rabbit which is the animal for 2011.   This coincide with 23rd Jan 2012 of the western Solar Calender, so we can count down another few days before the Festive Season again  and this spring festive will last as long as 15 days, till 6 February 2012 :-).

 The Dragon is considered a  noble animal symbol that represents the Chinese emperors in ancient chinese history.   And is a symbol of success and good fortune.   This time, I find Dragon my theme for miniature craft.

I painted the miniature I made with golden colour match the theme of great wealth and fortune.    Display with the floral setting with birthday peach 寿桃, together I wish dear friends of every corners of the globe a Great Year 2012 and a Great Lunar Dragon year as well!
